1st Black Welcome Letter
Dear First Grader-
I am so excited to meet you and be your teacher this year! We are going to work hard and have a lot of fun. I can't wait to tell you stories about my dog Roxy. I know it can be a little scary coming to a new class and meeting a new teacher. I promise I will help you feel safe and loved. You are going to learn so many new things and I am looking forward to helping you along the way. See you soon!
Dear Parents,
Thank you for trusting me with your child everyday for the next school year and thank you in advance for your support. This will be my 7th year at Sunrise and 6th year in 1st grade. I have also taught 6th grade at Sunrise. I have three children, a 8th grader at North Cache, and twins that are juniors at Sky View. We love being together as a family, especially if it's on a beach! I like to read and go for walks and am working each year on becoming a better gardener.
One of my favorite things about teaching is watching a student gain confidence in a skill or subject and being able to witness their progress over the school year. First graders make such huge growth and I love being able to be a part of it! I really appreciate being able to be a team with you and your child, and look forward to meeting you all.
At back to school night, you will get more information about curriculum and details about our class.
Please make sure you are signed up to receive emails and texts through powerschool for important information from the school. I will have a class code set up on back to school night for our communication app. Until then, please feel free to reach out through email if you have any questions.
- Mrs. Black
