Welcome to First Grade
I am so excited to have you in my class this year and I’m looking forward to seeing you soon. Our classroom is upstairs and right down the hall from the office in room number 5. I know it can be a little scary to come to school, but I will be in our classroom waiting to meet you and help with anything you are nervous about! First grade is so much fun and we are going to have a great year!
I hope you had an awesome summer! Enjoy the last little bit of the break and I will see you soon!

Dear Parents,
Hi! I am excited to be your child’s first grade teacher and am looking forward to a great year! I will be spending a lot of time with your child, so I’d like to introduce myself.
My name is Amy Wallace. I have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been working at Sunrise for quite a while now! I’m loving being in first grade. My children attended Sunrise and I love working at such an excellent school with such a supportive school community! I love hiking, paddle boarding, pickleball, quilting, reading, AND teaching cute first graders to read. I look forward to getting to know each of you this year.
I will have more information for you about the first-grade curriculum, homework, and how you can help this year at back to school night.
Here are a few things that might be helpful to know before then:
*Please make sure you are signed up to receive emails from the school to get information about when back to school night will be held.
*School starts at 9:05 and ends at 3:35, Monday through Thursday. Fridays are an early out and dismissal is at 2:20.
*Please check out our first-grade supply list which can also be found on the school website.
