Welcome to First Grade

 

 

Hi! I am excited to be your child’s first grade teacher and am looking forward to a great year! Thank you  in advance for the partnership we will have. One of my favorite things in first grade is watching a student gain confidence in a skill or subject and being able to witness their progress over the school year.  At this age students make such huge growth. 

My name is Amy Wallace. I have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been working at Sunrise for quite a while now! I’m loving being in first grade.  My children attended Sunrise and I love working at such an excellent school with such a supportive school community! I love hiking, paddle  boarding, pickleball, quilting, reading, AND teaching cute first graders to read. I  look forward to getting to know each of you this year. 

Here are a few things that might be helpful to know before then: 

*Please make sure you are signed up to receive emails from the school to get  information about when back to school night will be held. 

*School starts at 9:05 and ends at 3:35, Monday through Thursday. Fridays are an  early out and dismissal is at 2:20. 

*Please check out our first-grade supply list which can also be found on the school  website.
