Welcome Back to School! | 2026–2027

We love seeing your children and are thrilled to welcome you to a fantastic new school year at Sunrise! Clear communication is essential to a successful year, so please review the important information and policies below.

Important Dates to Remember

• August 24: Back to School Night (6:00 PM – 7:30 PM | 3 sessions every 30 minutes)
• August 25: First Day of School (Grades 1–5)
• September 1: First Day of Kindergarten
• September 7: Labor Day (No School)
• September 16: School Picture Day

School Hours & Daily Schedule

• Breakfast: Served from 8:35 AM – 9:00 AM.
• Morning Supervision & Crosswalks: Supervision begins at 8:45 AM.
• Class Start Time: Students must be in their seats and ready to learn at 9:05 AM.

Drop-Off Safety Notice: For student safety, please do not drop your children off on campus before 8:45 AM (unless they are attending breakfast at 8:35 AM), as there is no supervision on the grounds or at crosswalks prior to this time. At 9:00 AM, recess staff will let students into the building to head to class.

Attendance & Absences

Arriving on time helps students start their day prepared and confident. Any student arriving after 9:05 AM must report to the office to fill out a late slip.

Excusing Absences: Please excuse all absences by calling the front office at 435-563-3866.

Campus Safety & Visitor Guidelines

We take safety very seriously. All students must follow school-wide expectations daily to ensure a safe learning environment.

• Locked Doors & Check-In: All exterior doors remain locked throughout the day. Everyone must enter through the front doors.
• Visitor IDs: All visitors and volunteers must ring the buzzer, present a valid ID at the camera/entrance, and sign in at the front office. ID badges must be worn at all times while on campus.
• Student Checkout: For your child's safety, students will only be released to individuals listed as trusted contacts in PowerSchool
• Morning Escorts: To maintain campus security, adults are not permitted to walk children to their classrooms in the morning.
  • 2-Day Exception: Parents of Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and students brand-new to Sunrise may walk their children to class on the first two days of school only. After day two, our staff will be on hand to warmly welcome and assist them.
• Traffic & Drop-Off/Pick-Up: Please refer to our Drop-Off / Pick-Up Map Link. Be a great role model for our students by always using marked crosswalks and following staff instructions.

Cellular Device Policy

In accordance with Cache County School District policy and Utah Senate Bill 178, Sunrise requires all students to turn off cellular devices for the entire school day.

• Phones & Smartwatches: Must be turned off and placed inside backpacks upon arrival at school. Smartwatches may be worn again at the final dismissal bell.
• Exceptions: Accommodations apply for documented IEP, 504, or medical needs.

Meals & School Supplies

• Breakfast: $1.40 (Served 8:35 AM – 9:00 AM)
• Student Lunch: $2.05
• Adult Lunch: $4.00 (Parents are always welcome to join their child for lunch!)
  Students receive 15–20 minutes to eat and will be dismissed from the lunchroom in staggered groups. Food sharing is not permitted.
• Menus & Assistance: Access monthly menus on our website by clicking the knife and fork icon, or apply for free/reduced meal prices via the Free & Reduced Meal Application.
• School Supplies: All necessary learning materials are provided by the school. Teachers may share optional donation wishlists at Back to School Night—your support is always appreciated!
